What Runs Your Website

You have plenty of options for building a website. Here’s exactly what we use, what it costs you to run, and what happens if you ever want to leave. No surprises — that’s the whole point.

Static Files, Not a Database

Most small business websites run on WordPress: a database, a stack of plugins, and a monthly patching cycle. Yours doesn’t. Your site is plain files — text, images, styling — delivered straight from Cloudflare’s global network.

  • Nothing to hack. No database, no admin login, no plugin with a security hole in it.
  • Nothing to patch. No 2am email saying your site is down because an update broke something.
  • Fast by default. Your pages load from whichever data center is nearest your customer.

What It Costs to Run

Almost nothing — and that’s deliberate, not a gimmick.

  • Hosting: included while you’re subscribed — it runs in our account, and we handle it. If you buy outright, or once your build is paid off, we move the site to your own account, where Cloudflare’s free tier covers virtually every small business we work with. If you’re ever the exception, we’ll tell you plainly rather than let you find out from a bill.
  • Your domain: registered and renewed by you, in your name, at your own registrar — never ours. Cost depends on the extension.

That’s the whole list. No platform fee, no plugin licenses, no premium theme renewal, no per-visitor charge.

We do offer a monthly subscription, so it’s fair to ask how that’s any different. Here’s the honest answer: our monthly buys work, not permission. Content updates, profile posts, a new service-area page, the report showing what it got you — real hours, every month, or you should stop paying us.

The test is what happens when you cancel. Stop paying a hosted store platform or a managed WordPress host and your site goes dark — that fee was rent on the platform itself, and the platform is where your site lived. Stop paying us and, once your build is paid off, we hand over the repo and the DNS and help you move it onto your own account, where it runs for free. There’s a move to make, and we’ll walk you through it — but once it’s done, keeping the site online costs you nothing, because the hosting was never what you were paying for.

What Happens If We Disappear

A fair question, and one worth asking any agency before you hire them. Most of them can’t answer it. Here’s ours.

  • Your domain is registered in your name, at your own registrar. We never hold it, so we can never hold it over you — and it’s the one thing that keeps working no matter what happens to us.
  • You already have your site. At launch we hand you the finished files and a copy of your domain’s settings — including the records that route your email — plus a one-page guide to putting it all back online yourself. On your own Cloudflare account, or any basic web host that accepts a folder of files. You don’t have to ask us for them, and you don’t need us to be around.
  • The source code is yours — once the build is paid off, we hand it over at no extra charge. Repo, DNS, and docs, no negotiation.

There’s no proprietary format here, no database to export, no platform to escape. A static site is just files, and you already have them. That isn’t a promise we’re asking you to trust — it’s a property of how the thing is built.

When You Need Something Dynamic

Sometimes a static site needs to do one dynamic thing — take a payment, book a job, capture a lead. We add that one thing with a dedicated service instead of migrating you onto a platform you’ll rent forever.

Selling online is the common one. We’d use Square, and their processing fee goes to them at cost — we never mark it up or take a cut of your sales. Tell us what you need and we’ll quote it before we start.
